Quitters/ afk in ra
something has to be done with this.
im desperatly trying to get my gladiator title , but with so many quitters and afkers its almost hopless.
There must be some kind of penalty for quitting right after you entered the match. Loose 1k balthy points or somt if u leave before the match is over , and same if you havent moved for 30 sec after the match has begun..

unfortunate circumstances
it'd be nice to impose a penalty like that...but what about people who lose their carrier or have inexplicable lag...it'd be just as unfair to them to penalise them as to you to not get your title

I have to say I agree with quitters that quit cos there's a lvl 15 or something in their team. So it also would be good to put a lvl cap on RA (20 ofc).

If you implement such a system, there will be complaint from people who actually have a legit reason to leave.
It's a bad idea and it's never going to happen.

Reason to leave? cmon i cant see no good reason to quit. i agree it should be a lev 20 cap on ra, but besides a group of 3 lev 10 ppl i cant see any reason to quit. if ur house is burning down or some other emergency 1k faction point dosent matter anyway..

I've repeatedly suggested a 2-5 minute timer upon dropping: if you drop, you should not be able to enter a new match in 2 to 5 minutes. Wont fix the AFK'ing, but will fix dropping out without unfairly penalizing people with really stinking connections.
Fixing the AFK'ing would require a votekick, and it's pretty obvious by now that that is something ANet has no intention of ever implementing.

Bad idea, it is RANDOM arena, not some competive arena.
I enter, if a get a team without useful people on, i quit, rinse and repeat.
In 3-5 go's, you'll get a nice team, that you can win 5+ with.

quitters in RA are a fact of life; assassins that cant make their kill, monks who figure that their team just wont work, etc.. plenty of reasons to quit.
to reply to the OP, penalties against quitters/afk'ers probably will never happen, just pray that those kind of people are on the other side of the team (and return the favor by leaving as well instead of fighting with a shorthanded team)

If your going for that title, go to Team Arena and get started there, much safer and greater chance of getting like-minded team mates who will help you towards you goal.

See, I can see why ANet have problems with votekicking in organised PvE (a guild kicking the only non-guildie when he gets a gold drop), and to a lesser extent organised PvP (although the reasoning here is a LOT less clear due to the fact that you're just harming the team if you lose one member), but in random PvP, none of these reasons exist.
The chances of you ending up on the same team as a guild-mate are slim to none, so malicious organised exploiting of a kick system is not very likely to happen.
Seriously, grow a set ANet, it's getting to the point where I'm going to stop playing any random PvP, unless leechers face some form of retribution.
I know that votekicking doesn't solve the problem of leavers, but it's a damn good start.
As for the comment about getting on a team "without useful people on", this is a symptom of people's reliance on cookie cutter builds and not wanting to even bother trying if their team doesn't have a monk.
NERF MONKS. The game depends on them too much >:E
That's a whole 'nother discussion right there, so I'll stop now.

I think that if a player gets an error 7, It should come up with a message for the other players in the party, that way atleast they will know it's not their fault, if u know what I mean.

I can think of one excellent reason to either go AFK or quit.
You have to go to the bathroom. NOW.

What I want to see is a limit so only level 20s can enter RA... getting tired of the low levels coming in and thinking they are hilarious by ruining my game... Anet put it in for Alliance Battles... why not Random Arenas?

There should be a level cap of 20 for the RA. Most other PvP has these caps in place. And yes while a level 15 kicking butt is always good to see, its better they level up first

Because I can't be bothered wasting five minutes of my life healing three PVE stance scrubs who wouldn't know how to kill something if they tried, but claim they are unbeatable.

Totally agree with that. Should be 20 level minimum, and even that doesn't go nearly far enough. They should impose more standards on top of that as well, like you need a high number of skills unlocked etc. But those other standards wouldn't be practical to put in so that I can kind of understand that. Absolutely no excuse for under level 20's to be in RA though.
You can't blame people for quitting in those circumstances. Personally I think people who don't quit immediately when they have someone under level 20 on their team or have an AFKer, are not all that bright.
On another note, if you want Glad points eventually "hashing it out" and trying to carry bad players/team makeups above and beyond the sum of their parts gets very tiresome once you learn that you may be able to win a couple of rounds with a bad team due to excellent contributions of the one good player, but chances of getting past 10 are very bad. Hence, can't really blame people for quitting in those cases either.
If they did put a Balt faction penalty in then most people would just adapt to that and spend all their Balt faction before going in, hence the penalty would have little to no effect on them.

See... I hate people with that mindset. If you are going to picky about your team, do not do RANDOM arenas where your team is RANDOM. Go to Team Arenas where your team can be organized by you.

This is exactly the selfish moronic behavior that causes the problems in RA.
The very fact that you think you can look at the classes in a team and immediately think you can't win says a whole lot about you. "OMG No monk, we lose" "OMG There's a mesmer, we lose". You're own stupid idea of who can and who can't PvP ruin the fun of 7 other people in each game you quit.

Look, if you choose to go to RA, where people curse at each other, who aren't even in the match, you shouldn't be expecting people who take it seriously. If you want gladiator, go to TA, or calm down, make your build useful to your teammates, and press enter battle.
